The hymn "Rock of Ages" is one of our favorites has been sung for hundreds of years. Written by Augustus Toplady in 1776, as the young minister traveled through the rugged country near England's Cheddar Gorge, the clouds opened up and the storm raged. Cold and weary, he was able to find shelter standing under a rocky overhang and thus "Rock of Ages" was conceived.
